A day in Xanten on the Lower Rhine: the archaeological park and its Roman reconstructions, the cathedral and the old town.

A small town on the Lower Rhine, about two hours’ drive from the Liège area, Xanten was one of the main cities of the Roman province of Lower Germania. Its archaeological park, one of the largest open-air museums in Germany, brings the city back to life with a reconstructed temple, amphitheatre and inn. The nearby Roman museum, modern and accessible, tells the story of daily life at the time. In the afternoon, your group discovers St Victor’s Cathedral and the peaceful streets of the old town, with its windmill. An original day in the fresh air, on flat paths.

  • Morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice.
  • Coach journey with breaks: our drivers drive for no more than 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
