Four days in Wrocław, a city of islands and bridges on the Oder, with a guided tour, the Racławice Panorama and a half-board hotel.
Wrocław, the capital of Lower Silesia, spreads across a dozen islands linked by more than a hundred bridges. Its great Market Square, lined with colourful houses and crowned by a Gothic town hall, is one of the finest in Poland. Your group will also hunt for the little bronze dwarfs hidden on street corners before reaching Cathedral Island, where a lamplighter still lights the gas lamps by hand every evening. The Racławice Panorama, a huge 19th-century circular painting, is a striking memory. The journey is made with two drivers and regular breaks, the days on site are relaxed and a half-board hotel awaits you each evening.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Wrocław
- Morning departure from the place of your choice, with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Drive across Germany and arrival in Wrocław in the evening, check-in at the hotel for 3 nights.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Old Town and Cathedral Island
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Guided walking tour of the Old Town: Market Square, Gothic town hall and colourful houses, looking out for the bronze dwarfs (on request).
- Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
- Stroll to Cathedral Island (Ostrów Tumski) and St John the Baptist Cathedral, at the time the gas lamps are lit.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Racławice Panorama and the Oder
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Visit to the Racławice Panorama, a large circular painting from 1894 displayed in a rotunda, with audio guide.
- Commented cruise on the Oder around the islands (on request).
- Coach drive past the Centennial Hall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then free time in town.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Early-morning departure with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival back in your region in the evening.
