Three days in the capital of Polish pottery, with a workshop visit, the Ceramics Museum and Görlitz across the Neisse.
Bolesławiec, in Lower Silesia, has for centuries produced stoneware that is instantly recognisable: cobalt-blue patterns applied with a sponge, including the famous “peacock eye”. Your group discovers how these pieces are made during a workshop visit, then admires the creations of past centuries at the Ceramics Museum. The Market Square, its town hall and the many pottery shops are easy to explore on flat ground. In the afternoon, a short drive leads to Görlitz, a German town with a remarkably preserved heritage, reached on foot from Zgorzelec by a footbridge over the Neisse. Two drivers take turns on the outward and return journeys, and the same half-board hotel welcomes you for both nights.
