Four days between Verona and Lake Garda: the Arena, Juliet's house, Sirmione by boat and the wines of Bardolino.
Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, has kept its Roman Arena, its lively squares and its pink marble palaces, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Your group discovers it with a guide, on largely pedestrian and flat streets, or aboard the little tourist train. The next day, Lake Garda offers a different atmosphere: Sirmione and its Scaliger castle standing on the water, a boat trip around the peninsula and Bardolino, a village of winegrowers and olive trees. The hotel is on the lakeside or nearby, for all three nights. Two drivers take turns on the outward and return journeys, and from June to September an evening of opera at the Arena can crown the trip.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Lake Garda
- Early morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice, with two drivers on board.
- Route through Germany and Austria, then over the Brenner Pass.
- Regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival at Lake Garda in the evening and check-in at the hotel for 3 nights.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Verona, city of Romeo and Juliet
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to Verona (about 30 minutes).
- Guided tour of the old town: the Arena, Piazza Bra, Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza dei Signori and Juliet's house (on request).
- Tour of the city by little tourist train (on request).
- Lunch in a restaurant in the centre (on request).
- Free time, then return to the hotel.
- Opera evening at the Arena, from June to September (on request).
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Sirmione and Bardolino
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to Sirmione and stroll to the Scaliger castle.
- Boat trip around the Sirmione peninsula (on request).
- Lunch by the lake (on request).
- In the afternoon, Bardolino: walk along the lakefront and tasting of wine and olive oil (on request).
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Morning departure with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Return to your region in the evening.
