The Battle of Verdun in 1916 remains one of the great symbols of the First World War, and its memorial sites move every visitor. Your group first discovers the Verdun Memorial, a modern and accessible museum that tells the story of the French and German soldiers. Nearby, Douaumont Ossuary and its cemetery with thousands of white crosses offer a moment of reflection, with the coach driving right up to the monument. After a seated lunch in town, the underground citadel is visited seated in an automated car, effortlessly, through its galleries. A powerful yet serene day at the group’s pace, about three hours’ drive from Belgium.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each participant; bring your usual medication.
  • Departure and return times adapted to your group’s pick-up point; trip available from 20 participants, on the date of your choice, price on quotation.
  • Walking level: easy, the Memorial is accessible and the citadel is visited seated in an automated car; a few steps at the ossuary. Participants using a wheelchair or with reduced mobility: please let us know when booking.
  • The battlefield is hilly, but the coach drops the group as close as possible to each site; bring a jacket, the galleries of the citadel are cool all year round.

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
