Eight days in Valencia: science museum, Oceanogràfic, old town, the Albufera lagoon and the Roman theatre of Sagunto.
Valencia is an ideal destination for a science-focused school trip. At the City of Arts and Sciences, designed by Santiago Calatrava, pupils experiment in the science museum, observe the sky at the Hemisfèric and discover marine ecosystems from around the world at the Oceanogràfic. The old town, with its cathedral and the UNESCO-listed Lonja de la Seda, tells the story of a prosperous merchant city, while the Albufera Natural Park shows a coastal lagoon, its birds and rice growing. Peñíscola Castle and the Roman theatre of Sagunto, besieged by Hannibal, add a touch of history. The trip suits secondary pupils in science, biology, geography and Spanish.
