Five days in Turin: royal palaces, the Egyptian Museum, the Mole Antonelliana, the Superga rack railway and Langhe wines.
Former capital of the House of Savoy, Turin is an elegant city of royal squares, arcades and historic cafés at the foot of the Alps. Your group discovers the famous Egyptian Museum, one of the richest in the world, the royal palaces of Piazza Castello and the Mole Antonelliana, whose panoramic lift offers a view over the whole city. A little rack railway climbs to the Basilica of Superga above the hills. A day in the Langhe, a UNESCO World Heritage site, then leads to Alba and the Barolo villages, among vineyards and castles. The visits follow a gentle pace, with café breaks to taste bicerin, the Turin chocolate and coffee drink.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Turin
- Early morning departure from the pick-up point of your choice, with two drivers on board.
- Route through Luxembourg, Alsace and Switzerland, then the Aosta Valley.
- Regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival in Turin in the evening and check-in at the hotel for 4 nights.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Royal Turin and the Egyptian Museum
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Guided tour of the centre: Piazza Castello, Piazza San Carlo and the arcades of Via Po (on request).
- Guided visit to the Egyptian Museum (on request).
- Lunch in a restaurant in the centre (on request).
- Break in a historic café to taste bicerin.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: The Mole Antonelliana and Superga
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Panoramic lift up the Mole Antonelliana, home of the National Cinema Museum (on request).
- Visit to the Royal Museums and the Royal Palace (on request).
- In the afternoon, rack railway ride from Sassi to the Basilica of Superga (on request).
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: The Langhe and Alba
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Coach excursion into the Langhe hills.
- Stroll through the old town of Alba.
- Lunch in a Langhe inn (on request).
- Visit to a winery and tasting of Piedmont wines (on request).
- Return to Turin in the late afternoon.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Morning departure with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Return to your region in the evening.
