5 days in Trentino: the city of the Council and its castle, the Val di Non orchards, Thun Castle and Rovereto.
Trento, at the foot of the Alps, is the first major Italian city after the Brenner Pass: your group arrives without fatigue, after a stopover night in southern Germany. The old town is flat and easy to explore, from Piazza Duomo and its Neptune Fountain to the Buonconsiglio Castle, former residence of the prince-bishops. It was in San Vigilio Cathedral that the famous Council of Trent met in the 16th century. One day is devoted to the Val di Non, a valley covered with apple trees, with Thun Castle and a tasting at a local producer. The pace stays gentle, with free time on café terraces and a 3-star hotel on half board.
Programme
Day 1: Departure and overnight stopover (southern Germany)
- Morning departure from the place of your choice.
- Journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (southern Germany), dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: The Brenner and Trento
- Breakfast, then drive to the Brenner Pass with regular breaks.
- Arrival in Trento in the early afternoon and check-in at the hotel for 2 nights.
- Stroll through the old town: Piazza Duomo, the Neptune Fountain and the painted façades of Via Belenzani.
- Guided tour of San Vigilio Cathedral, where the Council of Trent met (on request).
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3: Buonconsiglio Castle and the Val di Non
- Guided tour of Buonconsiglio Castle and its frescoes of the months of the year (on request).
- Drive to the Val di Non, with its apple orchards and villages.
- Lunch of Trentino specialities (on request).
- Visit of Thun Castle, overlooking the valley (on request).
- Tasting of apples and juices at a valley producer (on request).
- Return to Trento and dinner at the hotel.
Day 4: Rovereto, then journey to the stopover (southern Germany)
- Breakfast, then a short drive to Rovereto.
- Walk in the centre and visit of the MART, the museum of modern and contemporary art (on request).
- Seated lunch on the way (on request).
- Return journey with regular breaks: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Late-afternoon arrival at the stopover hotel (southern Germany), dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast, then return journey with regular breaks.
- Evening return to your home area.

Good to know
- Valid identity card and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each participant. Bring enough of your usual medication.
- Departure and return times adapted to your group's pick-up point; trip offered from April to October, dates to be checked each year. From 20 participants, price on quotation.
- Walking level: easy (short walks, some cobbled lanes); a meeting time at the coach is set each day with the driver. Wheelchair users or guests with reduced mobility: please tell us when booking.
- Currency: euro. Bring comfortable clothes for the journey, a hat and sun cream.
