7 days at the heart of the Renaissance: Florence and its museums, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Siena, San Gimignano and the walls of Lucca.

Tuscany is the cradle of the Renaissance and an ideal setting for art and history lessons. In Florence, pupils discover Brunelleschi’s dome, the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery and Michelangelo’s David, then the Museo Galileo, devoted to scientific instruments and the scientist’s discoveries. In Pisa, the Piazza dei Miracoli brings together the Leaning Tower, the cathedral and the baptistery, a perfect opportunity to talk about architecture and physics. Siena with its shell-shaped Piazza del Campo, then San Gimignano and its medieval towers, show the rivalry between Italian city-states. The trip ends in Lucca, where pupils go round the city walls on foot or by bike. This trip suits secondary pupils, in history, art history, science and Italian.
