Four days in Szczecin, a great port on the Oder, with the ducal castle, a harbour cruise and a day on the Baltic coast.
Szczecin is the closest of Poland’s major cities to Belgium, just over two hours from Berlin. Its wide star-shaped avenues, its parks and the Chrobry Embankment overlooking the Oder and the harbour give it an elegant, airy feel. The Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle, rebuilt after the war, recalls the long history of this dynasty, while St James’s Cathedral and the modern Philharmonic, shaped like a white glacier, show two faces of the city. A day on Wolin Island takes you to the Baltic coast at Międzyzdroje, with its pier and long beach. The journey is made with two drivers and regular breaks, and you stay in the same half-board hotel throughout.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Szczecin
- Morning departure from the place of your choice, with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Drive via Hanover and Berlin, arrival in Szczecin in the late afternoon and check-in at the hotel for 3 nights.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Ducal castle and Szczecin harbour
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Guided city tour: Pomeranian Dukes’ Castle, St James’s Cathedral and the Chrobry Embankment (on request).
- Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
- Commented cruise in the harbour and on the Oder (on request).
- Free time in town or in Kasprowicz Park.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Wolin Island and the Baltic coast
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Coach excursion to Międzyzdroje (about 1 hr 30), a seaside resort on Wolin Island.
- Walk along the pier and the seafront promenade.
- Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
- Visit to the bison enclosure of Wolin National Park (on request).
- Return to Szczecin in the late afternoon.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Morning departure with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival back in your region in the evening.
