Four days among sandstone rocks and forests: the Kamenice gorges by boat, Hřensko, Děčín Castle and the Bastei in Saxon Switzerland.
In northern Bohemia, along the Elbe, Bohemian Switzerland is a national park of sandstone cliffs, forests and deep gorges. The highlight is the trip through the Kamenice gorges by boat, led by a boatman who describes the scenery, with easy stretches of path between the landing stages. You will also see Děčín Castle above the Elbe and, just across the border, the famous Bastei Bridge in Saxon Switzerland. Your group stays three nights in the same hotel, and two drivers take turns on the long journeys. The programme can be tailored, with prices on quotation, for groups of 20 participants or more.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to northern Bohemia
- Early-morning departure from the location of your choice, with two drivers on board for this long journey.
- Regular breaks on the road: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival in the Děčín area at the end of the day and check-in at the hotel for 3 nights.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Hřensko and the Kamenice gorges
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to Hřensko, a village on the Elbe at the foot of the rocks.
- Boat trip through the Kamenice gorges (Edmund’s Gorge), with an easy path between the landing stages (depending on the season).
- Lunch in a restaurant in Hřensko (on request).
- For keen walkers, a guided walk up to the Pravčická brána rock arch (on request); the others enjoy free time in the village.
- Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3: The Bastei and Děčín
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive into Saxon Switzerland and a short walk to the Bastei Bridge, overlooking the Elbe.
- Lunch in the area (on request).
- In the afternoon, guided tour of Děčín Castle and its rose gardens (on request).
- Farewell dinner with music in a local restaurant (on request), or dinner at the hotel.
Day 4: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Morning departure.
- Return journey with two drivers on board and regular breaks, arriving back in your area in the evening.

Good to know
- Valid identity card and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each participant.
- Departure and return times adapted to your group’s pick-up point; currency: Czech koruna (CZK), bank cards widely accepted.
- Walking level: moderate (about 2 to 3 km of easy path for the gorges; the climb to Pravčická brána is for keen walkers only).
- The Kamenice gorge boats usually run from April to October: plan this trip for the warmer months, dates to be checked.
