Eight days in Scheveningen, The Hague’s beach: pier and promenade, Delft, Rotterdam, Kinderdijk windmills, Gouda and Leiden.
Scheveningen is The Hague’s seaside resort: a long lively promenade, a pier reaching out into the North Sea and the majestic 19th-century Kurhaus. Your group stays seven nights in the same hotel, in the heart of a rich region where every excursion is less than an hour’s drive away. On the programme: The Hague and the Mauritshuis, Delft and its blue pottery, the port of Rotterdam, the windmills of Kinderdijk, Gouda and its cheese, Leiden and its canals. A whole day remains free for the beach, and every afternoon leaves time to catch your breath. It is a full but restful holiday, ideal for getting to know Holland in depth.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Scheveningen
- Departure in the morning from the place of your choice.
- Safety: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Drive to the Dutch coast, with regular breaks.
- Arrival in Scheveningen in the afternoon and check-in at the hotel for 7 nights.
- First walk along the promenade to the Kurhaus.
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2: The Hague, royal city
- Panoramic coach tour of The Hague: Peace Palace, Noordeinde Palace and the Binnenhof seen from the Hofvijver.
- Visit to the Mauritshuis and the Girl with a Pearl Earring (on request).
- Lunch in a restaurant in the centre (on request).
- Visit to Madurodam, the Netherlands in miniature (on request).
Day 3: Delft and Rotterdam
- Guided walk in Delft: Market Square and New Church (on request).
- Visit to a Delft Blue pottery factory (on request).
- Guided harbour cruise in Rotterdam in the afternoon (on request).
- Free time at the Markthal, then back to Scheveningen.
Day 4: Free day in Scheveningen
- Free day on the beach, the promenade or the pier (driver’s rest day).
- Dinner at the hotel.
Day 5: Kinderdijk and Gouda
- Visit to the Kinderdijk windmills.
- Boat trip along the canals of Kinderdijk (on request).
- Lunch in the area (on request).
- Afternoon in Gouda: Gothic town hall and Market Square; cheese market on Thursday mornings in season.
- Gouda cheese tasting (on request).
Day 6: Leiden, city of canals
- Guided walk in Leiden: canals, almshouses and De Valk windmill (on request).
- Guided cruise on the canals of Leiden (on request).
- Back in Scheveningen by mid-afternoon and free time.
Day 7: Free morning and Scheveningen harbour
- Free morning on the beach.
- In the afternoon, walk to the Scheveningen fishing harbour.
- Herring tasting (on request).
- Farewell dinner at the hotel.
Day 8: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast and return journey in the late morning, with regular breaks.
- Return in the late afternoon or early evening to your region.

- A valid identity card is required and a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is recommended.
- Departure and return times are adapted to your group’s pick-up point; price on quotation, from 20 participants.
- Walking level: easy (short walks on flat ground, frequent breaks).
- Stay possible from April to October; the Gouda cheese market takes place on Thursday mornings from about April to late August (to be checked each year).
