A day at the three borders: the village of the Schengen Agreement, the Remerschen nature reserve and the Moselle.
It was in Schengen, on the Moselle, where Luxembourg, France and Germany meet, that the agreement leading to the free movement of people in Europe was signed in 1985. At the European Museum Schengen, pupils understand what the Schengen Area concretely means in their daily lives. Nearby, the Biodiversum Camille Gira presents the Haff Réimech nature reserve, former gravel pits that have become a refuge for birds. A walk along the Remich promenade and, in season, a Moselle cruise complete a day combining European citizenship and nature. It suits pupils from the last years of primary school to secondary, for citizenship, geography and science.
