The Delta Works and Neeltje Jans, Middelburg, Veere and the beaches of Domburg: Zeeland, reclaimed from the sea, two hours from Belgium.
Zeeland tells the story of a centuries-long battle against the sea. Pupils go right inside the Delta Works, the gigantic storm surge barrier built after the 1953 flood, at the Neeltje Jans park, then discover Middelburg, Veere and Zierikzee, former merchant ports, before enjoying the dunes and the wide beaches of Domburg and Westkapelle. A trip close to home, combining science, history and the seaside. The date and time of departure are set with your school in the quote; the journey is made by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site throughout the stay.
