Wrocław's colourful squares, the Wieliczka salt mine, Wawel and Kazimierz, and a day of remembrance at Auschwitz-Birkenau.
This final-year trip to Poland combines discovery and remembrance. In Wrocław, pupils hunt for the little bronze dwarfs around the Rynek and watch the gas lamps being lit on Ostrów Tumski. After descending into Wieliczka Salt Mine, they reach Kraków with Wawel Castle, its great Market Square and the Jewish quarter of Kazimierz. A whole day is devoted to a guided tour of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group.

- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. Given the distance (about 1,300 km), two drivers take turns and an overnight stop is planned on the way out and on the way back: no night driving.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, respectful dress and behaviour at the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial, where inappropriate photos and selfies are forbidden; the Memorial advises against visits by children under 14).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: April to June and September to October; guided tours of Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka must be booked several months in advance, with a list of participants’ names. Poland uses the złoty (PLN), bank cards are accepted almost everywhere and electrical sockets are compatible with those in Belgium. Lunches are not included and inexpensive: allow around €10 per pupil per day; worth trying: pierogi and the obwarzanek, Kraków’s bagel-like pretzel.
