Imperial Vienna, from Schönbrunn to the Prater, then Budapest, its Parliament, the Castle District and the Széchenyi Baths, along the Danube.

Two capitals of the former Habsburg empire, linked by the Danube, for a rich and lively final-year trip. In Vienna, pupils explore the Ringstrasse, visit Schönbrunn and ride the Prater’s giant wheel. In Budapest, they discover the Buda Castle District and Fishermen’s Bastion, Parliament, Andrássy Avenue and the open-air Széchenyi Baths, while the House of Terror and the Great Synagogue tell the story of the 20th century. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. Given the distance (about 1,350 km to Budapest), two drivers take turns and an overnight stop is planned on the way out and on the way back: no night driving.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, “ruin bars” and nightlife excluded from the programme, appropriate dress in places of worship and at the baths).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school’s online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: April to June and September-October; the Hungarian Parliament tour and Schönbrunn tickets are booked several weeks ahead. Austria uses the euro and Hungary the forint (HUF): bank cards are accepted almost everywhere; sockets are the same as in Belgium. For the baths, bring swimwear, a towel and flip-flops. Lunches are not included: plan on about €12 to €15 per pupil per day in Vienna, a little less in Budapest.
