A day at Gardaland, Lake Garda from Sirmione to Malcesine, Verona's Arena, then Venice, St Mark's Square, Murano and Burano.

This trip mixes relaxation, thrills and heritage. On the shores of Lake Garda, pupils discover Sirmione and its castle on the water, go up Monte Baldo from Malcesine and spend a whole day at Gardaland, Italy’s biggest amusement park. They then visit Verona, its Roman arena and Juliet’s courtyard, before three nights at the gates of Venice for St Mark’s Square, the Rialto and the colourful islands of the lagoon. An overnight stop in Switzerland on the way out and on the way back avoids any night driving. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure; an identity card is enough to cross Switzerland, and a few Swiss francs may come in handy at the overnight stops.
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. An overnight stop in the Lucerne area on the way out and on the way back avoids any night driving, and two drivers take turns at the wheel.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, shoulders and knees covered to enter St Mark’s Basilica, no sitting or picnicking on the steps and bridges of Venice).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: mid-April to June or September, as Gardaland is open from April to early November (calendar to be checked for your date). Staying in Mestre, within the municipality of Venice, exempts the group from the access fee charged to day visitors on certain days. Italy uses the euro; allow around €12–15 per pupil per day for lunches, Venice being more expensive than the lake.
