St Mark's Square, the Grand Canal and the lagoon, then the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio and the David: Italy's two jewels in one trip.
This final-year trip brings together Italy’s two most famous cities. In Venice, pupils sail down the Grand Canal by vaporetto, discover St Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace and the Rialto Bridge, then the glassmakers of Murano and the colourful houses of Burano. In Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance, they admire the Duomo and its dome, the Ponte Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria, and can see Michelangelo’s David. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. Given the distance (about 1,250 km to Venice and 1,400 km back from Florence), two drivers take turns and an overnight stop is planned on the way out and on the way back: no night driving.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, in Venice, picnicking on steps and bridges and swimming in the canals are forbidden and subject to fines).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: April–May and September–October. The Doge’s Palace, Brunelleschi’s Dome, the Accademia and the Uffizi must be booked several weeks in advance for groups; clothing covering shoulders and knees is required in churches. On certain spring and summer days, Venice charges an access fee to visitors not staying in the municipality (in Lido di Jesolo, for example). Italy uses the euro; lunches are not included: allow around €12–15 per pupil per day.
