From Copenhagen to Oslo along the Swedish coast: Nyhavn, Hamlet's castle, Gothenburg, the Oslo Opera roof and the Holmenkollen ski jump.

This grand tour links three of Scandinavia’s great cities by road. In Copenhagen, pupils discover the canals, Nyhavn, Amalienborg and the Tivoli Gardens; in Helsingør, Hamlet’s castle; in Gothenburg, the wooden houses of Haga. Then comes Oslo, with the roof of the Opera House, the MUNCH museum, the Holmenkollen ski jump and the polar ship Fram. An overnight stop near Hamburg on the way out, then in southern Sweden and near Bremen on the way back, avoids any night driving. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. Travel is by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), also valid in Norway, to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure; Norway is part of the Schengen area but not of the European Union, so a customs check is possible at the Svinesund bridge.
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. An overnight stop near Hamburg on the way out, then in southern Sweden and near Bremen on the way back, avoids any night driving, and two drivers take turns at the wheel.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, care with Copenhagen’s many bicycles and on the sloping roof of the Oslo Opera House).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school’s online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: May to September, when the days are very long and the Tivoli Gardens are open; bring a windproof jacket and a jumper, as it stays cool by the North Sea and the fjord. Denmark, Sweden and Norway each have their own krone, but bank cards are accepted everywhere, even for small amounts. Lunches are not included: allow around €15 per pupil per day, more like €20 in Norway, or hotel packed lunches on request.
