Aix and its fountains, Marseille's Old Port, the calanques by boat and on foot, Cassis, the Château d'If and the Palais des Papes.

This final-year trip immerses pupils in Mediterranean Provence. After Aix-en-Provence, Cézanne’s city, they spend four days in Marseille: the Old Port, the Panier, Notre-Dame de la Garde and the MuCEM, a cruise along the white cliffs of the calanques, the harbour of Cassis, a hike down to the turquoise water of Sugiton and the crossing to the Château d’If of The Count of Monte Cristo. On the way back, a stop in Avignon and its Palace of the Popes. An overnight stop near Lyon breaks the journey on the way out and back. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours on the road, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. As the journey exceeds 900 km, an overnight stop is planned in the Lyon area on the way out and on the way back: no night driving.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, swimming only in authorised areas and under the teachers’ supervision, walking shoes and plenty of water for the hike).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: April to June or September and October, when it is mild and the boats are running; from June to September, access to the calanques massifs may be restricted or closed depending on the fire risk, and the Calanque de Sugiton requires booking in summer: the programme is then adapted. Bring a cap, a water bottle, sun cream and a swimsuit; lunches are not included: allow a budget of around €10–15 per pupil per day, or hotel packed lunches on request.
