Nuremberg between trial memories and medieval charm, Bamberg's Little Venice and Rothenburg's ramparts: five days in Franconia.
Nuremberg is an ideal place to understand the 20th century: the city of the great Nazi rallies became the city of the trial that judged their leaders. Pupils discover the Memorium, the Rally Grounds and the Imperial Castle, then travel back in time in Bamberg, a UNESCO-listed gem, and in Rothenburg ob der Tauber, an intact medieval town encircled by ramparts. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site for all the excursions. A trip rich in history, halfway between a history lesson and a picture postcard.

- Morning at the Memorium Nuremberg Trials, in the Palace of Justice where the main Nazi leaders were tried in 1945–1946 (on request).

- Lunch at your own expense and supervised free time in the centre.
- Return to Nuremberg, dinner and supervised evening.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, respectful behaviour at places of remembrance).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school’s online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: April to June or September–October; in December, Nuremberg’s Christmas market (Christkindlesmarkt) adds a lot of charm, but it is very crowded. The Memorium and the Imperial Castle are booked in advance for groups; Germany uses the euro and the same electrical sockets as Belgium, and the cobblestones of the old towns call for good shoes. Lunches are not included: allow a budget of around €10–15 per pupil per day; on request, the hotel can provide packed lunches for excursion days.
