The Caen Memorial, Arromanches, Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc and Bayeux: four days to understand 6 June 1944 where it happened.
Walking on Omaha Beach, standing at the edge of the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc, seeing the remains of the artificial harbour at Arromanches: in Normandy, the history of the Second World War learned in class becomes real and moving. The Caen Memorial provides the keys to understanding, the American and British war cemeteries recall the price of freedom, and Bayeux, the first town liberated, offers a lovely old town. The date and time of departure are set with your school in the quote; the journey is made by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions). In the war cemeteries and memorial sites, calm, respectful behaviour and appropriate clothing are required; at Pointe du Hoc, pupils stay on the marked paths, away from the cliff edge.
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: March to June or September–October; avoid the days around 6 June, which are very busy with ceremonies. The Bayeux Tapestry Museum is closed for renovation until around the end of 2027, so the Tapestry is not part of the programme. Bring a raincoat and good shoes for the beaches and cliffs; France uses the euro and lunches are not included (budget of around €10–15 per pupil per day).
