Munich and the Deutsches Museum, the Dachau memorial, Mozart’s city and the Eagle’s Nest at Berchtesgaden: history and the Bavarian Alps.

Based in Munich, this final-year trip links the great Bavarian city, 20th-century history and Alpine scenery. Pupils discover Marienplatz, the Viktualienmarkt, the surfers of the Englischer Garten and the Deutsches Museum, then pay their respects at the Dachau concentration camp memorial. A day in Salzburg, Mozart’s city, is followed by the Obersalzberg, its documentation centre and the Kehlsteinhaus, the “Eagle’s Nest”, before the Königssee lake. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group.
