The Menin Gate, Douaumont, Struthof, the European Parliament, Dachau and Nuremberg: remembering two world wars and today's Europe.
This trip links the great places of remembrance of the 20th century, in the footsteps of soldiers and victims. Pupils attend the Last Post in Ypres, walk the battlefield of Verdun and then discover Struthof, the only Nazi concentration camp set up on present-day French soil. In Strasbourg, the European Parliament shows the reconciliation that followed. In Bavaria, they visit the Dachau memorial, the Munich documentation centre and finally Nuremberg, city of the Nazi rallies and of the 1945-1946 trial. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.
