The heart of Castile: Madrid, its museums and legendary stadium, Toledo, city of three cultures, Segovia's aqueduct and El Escorial.
This trip immerses pupils in Castilian Spain. In Madrid, they experience the city from the Puerta del Sol to the Plaza Mayor, discover the Royal Palace, the Prado, Picasso’s Guernica and the Retiro Park, and visit the Santiago Bernabéu stadium. On excursions, they explore Toledo, where Christian, Jewish and Muslim cultures met, Segovia and its Roman aqueduct, then the monastery of El Escorial. An overnight stop in the Bordeaux area on the way out and on the way back avoids any night driving. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. Travel is by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. An overnight stop in the Bordeaux area on the way out and on the way back avoids any night driving, and two drivers take turns at the wheel.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, watchfulness for pickpockets at the Puerta del Sol and on the metro).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: March to May or October, as Madrid summers often exceed 35 °C; the Prado and the Reina Sofía are free for under-18s, but group visits, the Royal Palace and the Bernabéu must be booked in advance. Spain uses the euro; lunches are not included: allow around €10–15 per pupil per day, the “menú del día” being good value.
