Old Lyon, Lake Annecy, then Provence: the Popes' Palace, the Pont du Gard, Arles and Orange. Three regions in a single trip.

This trip travels down France from north to south in three contrasting stages. In Lyon, pupils climb Fourvière hill and slip through the traboules of Old Lyon. In Annecy, they discover the old town and its canals, the Fier gorges and the turquoise lake, by bike or by boat. Finally in Provence, Avignon and its Popes’ Palace, the Pont du Gard, the arena of Arles and the ancient theatre of Orange bring Roman and medieval history to life. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group.

  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. As Avignon is about 950 km from Belgium, two drivers take turns and an overnight stop in Burgundy is planned on the way back: no night driving.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, swimming in the lake only on lifeguarded beaches and with an accompanying adult present, helmets recommended for cycling).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school’s online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: May to late June and September; the Fier gorges and the lake cruises operate from spring to autumn. In Provence, bring a cap, sun cream and a water bottle: it is already hot in May. France uses the euro and the same sockets as Belgium. Lunches are not included: plan on about €12 to €15 per pupil per day.
