Luxembourg's Corniche, Strasbourg's Petite France, Colmar and Alsace, then Basel and Lucerne: three countries in one week.

This final-year trip links three neighbouring countries without long days on the road. Pupils discover the fortified old town of Luxembourg, spend three days in Alsace between Strasbourg Cathedral, the European quarter, the wine villages and Colmar’s Little Venice, then cross into Switzerland via Basel and the Rhine for three days in Lucerne, with Lake Lucerne and a day in Bern, the federal capital. Only two places to stay, three nights each. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours on the road, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure. For Switzerland, an identity card is sufficient; the currency there is the Swiss franc (bank cards and often euros accepted).
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, care near water and in the mountains).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: May to early October, when the Pilatus railway is running and boats follow their summer timetable; in December, the Strasbourg Christmas market is very busy and accommodation books up early. Luxembourg and France use the euro. Switzerland is more expensive: for lunches, allow around €10–15 per pupil per day in Alsace and Luxembourg, and €15–20 in Switzerland.
