Lucerne and the Gotthard, Lake Como, the Borromean Islands, Sirmione on Lake Garda, then St Mark’s Square: from the Alps to the lagoon.
This final-year trip links the Swiss Alps, the great Italian lakes and Venice. After a stop in Lucerne and its Chapel Bridge, pupils cross the Gotthard and discover Como and its lake. They then sail on Lake Maggiore to Isola Bella and the Fishermen’s Island, before reaching Sirmione on Lake Garda and Venice: the Grand Canal by vaporetto, St Mark’s Square, the Doge’s Palace and the Rialto Bridge. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure. For the crossing of Switzerland, an identity card is sufficient.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. Given the distance (about 1,250 km), two drivers take turns and an overnight stop is planned on the way out and on the way back: no night driving.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, in Venice, picnicking on steps and bridges and swimming in the canals are forbidden and subject to fines).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: April to June and September; the palace and gardens of Isola Bella are open from late March to October. Switzerland uses the Swiss franc (CHF), bank cards are accepted everywhere, and Italy uses the euro. On certain spring and summer days, Venice charges an access fee to visitors not staying in the municipality, and guided groups there are limited to 25 people. Lunches are not included: allow around €12–15 per pupil per day, a little more in Switzerland.
