Dublin and Trinity College, Glendalough, medieval Kilkenny, the Rock of Cashel, Galway and the Cliffs of Moher facing the Atlantic.

This trip crosses Ireland from east to west. In Dublin, pupils discover Trinity College, Kilmainham Gaol and the history of Irish independence. They pass through the Wicklow Mountains and Glendalough, Kilkenny and the Rock of Cashel, before reaching Galway, the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. The ferry crossings are made by day, via Dover and Holyhead, with an overnight stop in England on the way out and on the way back: never any night driving. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. Travel is by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know

  • A valid passport is compulsory for every pupil and every member of staff, as the route crosses the United Kingdom (an identity card is not enough there), together with an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) for the UK to be applied for online before departure; signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), valid in Ireland. Pupils of other nationalities should check their entry requirements.
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. The ferry crossings are made by day and an overnight stop is planned in the Birmingham area on the way out and on the way back: no night driving, and two drivers take turns at the wheel.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, care when crossing the road, as traffic drives on the left: look right first, and staying behind the barriers and on marked paths at the Cliffs of Moher).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: April to June or September; apply for passports and ETAs at least two months before departure and book the Book of Kells and Kilmainham Gaol early. Irish weather changes quickly: bring a waterproof jacket and walking shoes. Ireland uses the euro and the UK the pound sterling; sockets are type G in both countries (adapter needed). Lunches are not included: allow around €12–15 per pupil per day.
