The Speicherstadt, the Elbphilharmonie and Hamburg’s harbour, then Lübeck, queen of the Hanseatic League, and Travemünde beach on the Baltic.
This final-year trip explores northern Germany and the Hanseatic League, the great merchant alliance of the Middle Ages. In Hamburg, pupils explore the UNESCO-listed Speicherstadt, go up to the Elbphilharmonie Plaza, sail around Europe's third-largest port and walk under the Elbe through a tunnel built in 1911; in Lübeck, they pass through the Holstentor and taste the famous marzipan before a break on the beach at Travemünde. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours on the road, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, the St. Pauli district and the Reeperbahn are excluded from the evening programme).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: April to September, to enjoy the beach at Travemünde; Miniatur Wunderland works with time slots and is booked several months in advance for groups. Germany uses the euro and the same electrical sockets as Belgium; the weather changes quickly by the sea, so bring a raincoat. Lunches are not included: allow around €10–15 per pupil per day; a Fischbrötchen, the fish sandwich of the Landungsbrücken, is an affordable classic.
