A harbour boat tour, the Speicherstadt, the Elbe Tunnel and the Elbphilharmonie Plaza: Hamburg, the great port city of the North.
Hamburg, Germany’s second city and one of Europe’s largest ports, makes for a lively and eye-opening final-year trip: pupils board a harbour tour among container ships and shipyards, walk along the canals of the Speicherstadt, a UNESCO-listed warehouse district, pass under the Elbe through the old 1911 tunnel and look out over the port from the Elbphilharmonie Plaza. Miniatur Wunderland, the world’s largest model railway, can complete the programme. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.
