The Last Post at the Menin Gate, the Vimy trenches, the Lochnagar Crater and Douaumont: understanding the Great War where it happened.
Five days following the front line of the First World War, from Flanders to the Meuse: the Ypres Salient and the Last Post ceremony, Vimy Ridge and its tunnels, the battlefields of the Somme, then Verdun, the longest battle of the conflict. Modern museums, cemeteries, preserved trenches and soldiers’ stories help pupils put faces to the history they have studied in class. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote; the journey is made by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group throughout the stay.
