Renaissance Florence, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Lucca’s walls by bike and a day among the colourful villages of the Cinque Terre.
This trip combines art and the sea. In Florence, pupils discover the Duomo, the Uffizi, the Ponte Vecchio and Michelangelo’s David. They then pose in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa, ride around the walls of Lucca and spend a day in the Cinque Terre, by train and on foot between Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza and Monterosso, clinging to the cliffs above the Mediterranean. An overnight stop in Switzerland on the way out and on the way back avoids any night driving. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure; an identity card is enough to cross Switzerland, and a few Swiss francs may come in handy at the overnight stops.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. An overnight stop in the Lucerne area on the way out and on the way back avoids any night driving, and two drivers take turns at the wheel.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, care on the coastal paths and swimming only where permitted).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: April–May or September–October, with a pleasant sea and fewer crowds; the Cinque Terre boats run from April to October and the footpaths may close after heavy rain. Bring good walking shoes; the Uffizi, the Accademia and the Tower of Pisa must be booked several months in advance, and Italian state museums are free for under-18s. Lunch budget: around €12–15 per pupil per day, with Ligurian focaccia remaining cheap.
