The UNESCO-listed Dolomites, the Alpe di Siusi and Lake Carezza, then St Mark’s Square and the Grand Canal: from high peaks to the lagoon.

This final-year trip begins in the heart of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the Val di Fassa, pupils hike opposite the Marmolada glacier and discover the Pordoi Pass, Alpe di Siusi, Europe’s largest high-altitude pasture, and Lake Carezza. In Bolzano, they can meet Ötzi, the Iceman. The trip ends in Venice: St Mark’s Square, the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. Given the distance (about 1,000 km to the Dolomites and 1,250 km back from Venice), two drivers take turns and an overnight stop is planned on the way out and on the way back: no night driving.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, in the mountains, everyone stays on the marked trails and with the group, in Venice, picnicking on steps and bridges and swimming in the canals are forbidden).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: mid-June to the end of September, when the cable cars and passes are open (many lifts close in May, October and November). At altitude the weather changes quickly: bring good walking shoes, a warm layer, a rain jacket, sunscreen and a water bottle. Italy uses the euro; lunches are not included: allow around €12–15 per pupil per day, or hotel packed lunches for the hiking days.
