Kraków’s Main Square and Wawel, Kazimierz, the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial, the Wieliczka salt mine and rebuilt Warsaw.

This trip introduces pupils to Poland’s two great cities. In Kraków, the former royal capital spared by the war, they explore the Main Square, Wawel Hill and Kazimierz, the old Jewish quarter. The day at the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial, prepared with the teachers, is the heart of the trip. Warsaw, razed in 1944 and then rebuilt, then tells the story of the Uprising and of the rebirth of a capital that is now modern and lively. An overnight stop in Germany is planned on the way out and on the way back. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. Given the distance (about 1,200 km), two drivers take turns and an overnight stop in Germany is planned on the way out and on the way back: no night driving.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, appropriate dress and a dignified, quiet attitude at the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school’s online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: April to June or September to October; guided tours of Auschwitz-Birkenau are booked several months in advance with the group’s list of names. Poland uses the złoty (PLN): bank cards are accepted almost everywhere. Lunches are not included: allow a budget of about €10 to €15 per pupil per day (often less in Poland), or hotel packed lunches on request.
