Kraków and the memory of Auschwitz-Birkenau, a hike in the Tatras to Morskie Oko lake, then Budapest, the Danube and its thermal baths.
This trip links three faces of Central Europe. In Kraków, pupils discover the Main Market Square, Wawel Hill and the Kazimierz district, before a day of remembrance at Auschwitz-Birkenau. In the Tatras, they hike to Morskie Oko lake and soak up the atmosphere of Zakopane, then cross Slovakia to Budapest, between Buda Castle, Parliament and the Széchenyi Baths. An overnight stop in Dresden on the way out and in Regensburg on the way back avoids any night driving. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. Travel is by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. An overnight stop in Dresden on the way out and in Regensburg on the way back avoids any night driving, and two drivers take turns at the wheel.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, appropriate dress and respectful behaviour at the Auschwitz-Birkenau memorial, staying on marked trails in the Tatras).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: late May to June or September, when the path to Morskie Oko is clear of snow; guided visits of Auschwitz-Birkenau must be booked several months in advance with the group's list of names. Poland uses the złoty (PLN), Hungary the forint (HUF), and Slovakia and Germany the euro: bank cards are accepted almost everywhere. Lunches are not included: allow around €10–15 per pupil per day, and bring good walking shoes and a windproof jacket for the Tatras.
