Copenhagen’s canals, Hamlet’s castle, the Øresund Bridge, Malmö, the university town of Lund and the Ales stenar stones: Scandinavia in full.

This trip takes pupils to the heart of Scandinavia. In Copenhagen, they discover Nyhavn, the royal palaces and the canals by boat, then Kronborg Castle at Helsingør, the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. They then cross the Øresund Bridge for two days in southern Sweden: Malmö and its sustainable district, Lund with its cathedral and student life, then Ystad and the mysterious stone ship of Ales stenar overlooking the Baltic. An overnight stop in Germany is planned on the way out and on the way back. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made by day, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. Given the distance (about 1,000 km), two drivers take turns and an overnight stop in Germany is planned on the way out and on the way back: no night driving.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, care around Copenhagen’s many bikes and near the cliff edge at Ales stenar).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school’s online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: May to September, when the days are long and the Tivoli Gardens are open; bring a windproof jacket, as the weather changes quickly by the Baltic. Denmark uses the Danish krone (DKK) and Sweden the Swedish krona (SEK), but bank cards are accepted everywhere; identity checks take place at the borders, so keep your identity card on you. Lunches are not included: allow a budget of about €10 to €15 per pupil per day (rather €15 or more in Scandinavia), or hotel packed lunches on request.
