Nyhavn, the Little Mermaid and Tivoli, then the Øresund Bridge to Malmö and its Turning Torso: two Scandinavian countries in one trip.
Copenhagen wins pupils over with its canals, the colourful harbour of Nyhavn, the Little Mermaid, the royal palaces and the Tivoli Gardens, in a city where everything is done by bike. A day in Sweden takes them to Malmö over the Øresund Bridge, a structure of almost 8 km extended by an undersea tunnel, to discover the Turning Torso, the sustainable Västra Hamnen district and the old town. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made by day, with an overnight stop near Hamburg on the way out and back and a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site throughout the stay.
Programme
Day 1: Departure from your school and overnight stop near Hamburg

- Dinner, then supervised evening at the Tivoli Gardens, open since 1843 (on request).
Day 4: Malmö and the Øresund Bridge
- Crossing of the Øresund Bridge to Sweden and drive to Malmö (about 45 km, 45 min).
- Walk through Västra Hamnen, a former port district turned model of sustainable urban living, at the foot of the Turning Torso, the 190 m twisted tower.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. As the journey exceeds 900 km, an overnight stop is planned in the Hamburg area on the outward and return journeys: no night driving.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, Christiania excluded from the programme and off-limits during free time, care around the very many bikes).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school’s online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: April to September, when the days are long and Tivoli is open (the park also reopens for Halloween and Christmas, but is closed at the start of the year). Denmark uses the Danish krone (DKK) and bank cards are accepted everywhere; it is an expensive country: for the lunches, allow a budget of around €15–20 per pupil per day, or hotel packed lunches on request. A windproof jacket is useful in every season. In Sweden, payments are made in Swedish kronor (SEK), almost always by card, and an ID check may take place on entering the country.
