The arena of Nîmes, Montpellier and its beaches, Aigues-Mortes and the Camargue flamingos, the Cité of Carcassonne and the Pont du Gard.
This final-year trip spans two thousand years of history in the South of France. Pupils discover Roman Nîmes, its arena and its Maison Carrée, then spend four days in Montpellier, a student city between the medieval Écusson, the Promenade du Peyrou and the nearby beaches. They explore the Camargue of white horses, bulls and pink flamingos, walk the ramparts of Aigues-Mortes and the Cité of Carcassonne, and finish with the Pont du Gard, a masterpiece of Roman engineering. An overnight stop near Lyon breaks the journey on the way out and back. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours on the road, and the coach stays with the group on site.
