Parliament on the Danube, Buda Castle, the Széchenyi baths and the House of Terror: Budapest, a lively capital steeped in history.
Split in two by the Danube, Budapest is one of the most beautiful capitals in Europe. Pupils climb up to Buda’s Castle District and the Fisherman’s Bastion, visit Parliament, walk up Andrássy Avenue to Heroes’ Square and bathe in the warm waters of the Széchenyi Baths. The House of Terror, the Great Synagogue and the Shoes on the Danube Bank memorial tell the story of Hungary’s 20th century, before an afternoon in Szentendre. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. Given the distance (about 1,350 km), two drivers take turns and an overnight stop is planned on the way out and on the way back: no night driving.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, the “ruin bars” of the Jewish quarter excluded from the programme, appropriate dress in places of worship and at the baths).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: April to June and September–October; the Parliament tour must be booked several weeks in advance. Hungary uses the forint (HUF): bank cards are accepted almost everywhere, euros rarely; electrical sockets are compatible with those in Belgium. For the baths, bring a swimsuit, towel and flip-flops. Lunches are not included and inexpensive: allow around €10–12 per pupil per day.
