Three days in Berlin tracing the Wall and the 20th century, then Hamburg, its harbour, brick warehouses and the Elbphilharmonie.
This trip brings together Germany’s two largest cities. In Berlin, pupils discover the Reichstag, the Holocaust memorial and the Wall, from Bernauer Straße to the East Side Gallery. In Hamburg, a great port open to the world, they explore the UNESCO-listed Speicherstadt, HafenCity, the Elbphilharmonie and the famous Miniatur Wunderland. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made by day, with two drivers taking turns and a 30-minute break every 3 hours of driving, and the coach stays with the group on site throughout the stay. A shorter return journey from Hamburg rounds off the trip gently.

Good to know
- Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
- Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night. Given the length of the journey to Berlin (about 650 to 800 km), two drivers take turns on the outward journey; the return from Hamburg is shorter.
- Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, respectful behaviour at the memorials, and the Reeperbahn area of St. Pauli off limits during free time in Hamburg).
- The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school’s online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
- Recommended period: March to October; Miniatur Wunderland is in high demand and must be booked several weeks in advance, as must the Reichstag dome (participants’ names and dates of birth, ID checked at the entrance). Germany uses the euro and the same electrical sockets as Belgium; in Hamburg, a waterproof windbreaker is useful in any season. Lunches are not included: allow about €10–15 per pupil per day.
