Six nights by Lake Annecy to explore Geneva and CERN, Chamonix and Mont Blanc, the Gorges du Fier and the medieval village of Yvoire.

Based for six nights in Annecy, pupils enjoy the ‘Venice of the Alps’, its canals and its crystal-clear lake, then head out every day without changing accommodation. They discover Geneva, city of the United Nations, and CERN, where particle physics research takes place; they spend a day in Chamonix facing Mont Blanc, with the Aiguille du Midi and the Mer de Glace as options, and finish with the Fier Gorge, paddleboarding on the lake and the flower-filled village of Yvoire on Lake Geneva. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours on the road, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure. For Switzerland, an identity card is sufficient; the currency there is the Swiss franc (bank cards and often euros accepted).
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, care in the mountains, swimming only in authorised areas and under the teachers’ supervision).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: May to the end of September, when the lake is suitable for paddleboarding and swimming and the Chamonix lifts are fully running; the Aiguille du Midi should be booked in advance at the group rate and may close in bad weather. Bring a warm jacket for altitude, sun cream and a swimsuit. Geneva is in Switzerland (Swiss franc); for lunches, allow around €10–15 per pupil per day in France, a little more in Geneva.
