Annecy’s lake and canals, Mont Blanc from Chamonix, then international Geneva with CERN, the Place des Nations and the Jet d’Eau.

This final-year trip links the Alps and science. From Annecy, the “Venice of the Alps”, pupils sail on the lake and spend a day in Chamonix facing Mont Blanc and the Mer de Glace; in Geneva, they discover CERN, the European particle physics laboratory, with its Science Gateway, then the international Geneva of the Place des Nations, the old town and the Jet d’Eau. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours on the road, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure. For Switzerland, an identity card is sufficient; the currency there is the Swiss franc (bank cards and often euros accepted).
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, care in the mountains and by the water; at CERN and the Palais des Nations, ID is required and there are security checks at the entrance).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: May to September, when the Chamonix lifts and the lake boats are running (opening depends on the weather). CERN guided tours open for booking a few weeks in advance and fill up quickly; the Palais des Nations is also booked in advance. France uses the euro; at altitude, bring warm clothes, sun cream and sunglasses. Lunches are not included: allow around €10–15 per pupil per day, more in Geneva.
