Canals, museums and Zaanse Schans windmills, then a full day at Efteling and a stop in ’s-Hertogenbosch on the way home.

This final-year trip blends culture and fun in the Netherlands. In Amsterdam, pupils cruise the Golden Age canals, visit the Anne Frank House and the great museums, cycle the Dutch way and discover the windmills of Zaanse Schans and the harbour of Volendam; the group then spends a full day at Efteling, the country’s great theme park, and stays nearby before a final stroll through ’s-Hertogenbosch. The departure date and time are set with your school in the quote. The journey is made in daytime, with a 30-minute break every 3 hours on the road, and the coach stays with the group on site.

Good to know

  • Valid identity card or passport, signed parental consent form for each pupil under 18 and European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), to be requested from your health insurance fund a few weeks before departure.
  • Our drivers drive for a maximum of 3 hours, then take a 30-minute break, day and night.
  • Supervision is provided by the accompanying teachers; each pupil signs a code of conduct based on the school rules (no alcohol for minors or on the coach, no drug use, punctuality and compliance with instructions during free time, coffee shops excluded from the programme and prohibited for under-18s, care around bikes and trams, safety rules respected on the rides at Efteling).
  • The pupil list and rooming list are entered in the school's online area (Excel import possible); rooms are allocated according to your instructions.
  • Recommended period: spring to autumn, when Efteling is open into the evening (shorter hours in winter); tickets for the Anne Frank House only go on sale a few weeks before the date and sell out very quickly, so they are booked as soon as sales open. The Netherlands uses the euro; bring a raincoat and good shoes. Lunches are not included: allow around €10–15 per pupil per day, a little more at Efteling.
