Six days in Bohemia: Prague, Charles IV’s Karlštejn Castle and Kutná Hora, the UNESCO-listed silver town.
This tour follows the thread of the Czech Middle Ages, when Bohemia was one of the richest kingdoms in Europe. In Prague, pupils discover the castle, St Vitus Cathedral, Charles Bridge and the Old Town, with one day entirely on foot. Karlštejn Castle, built in the 14th century by Emperor Charles IV to guard the crown jewels, brings court life back to life. In Kutná Hora, whose silver mines made the kingdom’s fortune, St Barbara’s Church, the Sedlec Ossuary and an old mine gallery make history very tangible. This trip suits secondary school history and art history lessons.
