Five days in Prague to explore the castle, Charles Bridge, the astronomical clock and 20th-century Czech history.
Prague is an open-air history lesson, and its historic centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Pupils explore Prague Castle and St Vitus Cathedral, cross Charles Bridge and watch the procession of the apostles on the astronomical clock in Old Town Square. The Jewish Quarter of Josefov, Wenceslas Square and Vyšehrad hill bring to life the Middle Ages, Jan Hus and the Reformation, the Prague Spring of 1968 and the Velvet Revolution of 1989. One day is devoted to science and viewpoints, with the National Technical Museum as an option. This trip is particularly suited to secondary school history, geography and citizenship lessons.
