A 5-day stay in Ostend: the seafront and harbour, James Ensor’s house, then Bruges and Damme, at a gentle pace.

Ostend, nicknamed the “Queen of the Beaches”, has kept the elegance of its Royal Galleries and its long seafront promenade, ideal for a stroll facing the sea. Your group stays four nights in a 3-star hotel with lift, on half board, without changing rooms. Days alternate between visits and free time: the harbour and its fish market, the house of the painter James Ensor, then Bruges and the peaceful village of Damme. The journey from Belgium is short, leaving restful days. A simple, comfortable seaside stay, perfect for pensioners’ clubs.

Programme

Day 1: Drive to Ostend

  • Morning departure from the place of your choice.
  • Drive to the coast (our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break).
  • Lunch on the way (on request)
  • Check-in at the hotel for 4 nights and first stroll on the seafront.

Day 2: Ostend, Queen of the Beaches

  • Guided tour of Ostend: Royal Galleries, St Peter and St Paul’s Church and the harbour district (on request)
  • Visit to the Vistrap, the harbour fish market.
  • Visit of James Ensor’s house (on request)
  • Free afternoon on the seafront or on a café terrace.

Day 3: Bruges

  • Coach excursion to Bruges, half an hour away.
  • Canal boat trip (on request)
  • Lunch booked in a restaurant in the centre (on request)
  • Free time around the Market Square, then return to the hotel.

Day 4: Damme and the coast

  • Morning in Damme, a small canal-side village with a Gothic town hall.
  • Free afternoon in Ostend, or a ride on the Coast Tram to De Haan (on request)

Day 5: Return

  • Breakfast, then free time on the seafront.
  • Return journey in the early afternoon (our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break).
  • Arrival in your area in the late afternoon.

Good to know

  • A valid identity card is required for each participant; departure and return times are adapted to your group’s pick-up point.
  • Walking level: easy (short, flat walks with frequent breaks).

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
