Four days in Opole Silesia: an old town on the Oder, the fairy-tale castle of Moszna and the sanctuary of St Anne’s Mountain.
Opole, one of the oldest towns in Silesia, is a peaceful and little-known stop on the Oder. Your group discovers a Market Square lined with colourful houses, the Piast Tower, last remnant of the castle, and the “Opole Venice”, where houses rise straight from an arm of the river. The town is also the capital of Polish song, with its own festival and museum. The third day leads to Moszna Castle, bristling with dozens of turrets in the middle of a large park, then to St Anne’s Mountain, a Franciscan sanctuary and pilgrimage site dear to Silesians. The journey is long and made with two drivers, but the stay remains relaxed, with a single hotel for three nights.
Programme
Day 1: Journey to Opole
- Morning departure from the place of your choice, with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Drive through Germany via Dresden, then via Wrocław, arriving in Opole in the evening and checking in at the hotel for 3 nights.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Opole, on the Oder
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Guided tour of the old town: Market Square, cathedral and the Opole Venice (on request).
- Stop at the Piast Tower, remnant of the castle of the Dukes of Opole (optional climb up the stairs).
- Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
- Visit to the Museum of Polish Song, then free time on the Market Square.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Moszna and St Anne’s Mountain
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Drive to Moszna (about 45 minutes) and a stroll in the castle park.
- Guided tour of the state rooms of Moszna Castle (on request).
- Lunch booked at a restaurant (on request).
- Drive to St Anne’s Mountain and visit to the Franciscan basilica and its calvary.
- Return to Opole in the late afternoon.
- Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Return to Belgium
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- Early-morning departure with two drivers on board.
- Regular breaks along the way: our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
- Arrival back in your region in the evening.

Good to know
- A valid identity card and a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for each participant.
- Departure and return times adapted to your group’s pick-up point; currency: Polish złoty (PLN), cards widely accepted.
- Walking level: easy in town; at St Anne’s Mountain the car park is close to the basilica but the calvary is on a slope; the azaleas in Moszna park bloom in May.
