Eight days in Moravia: Brno and Gregor Mendel, the Punkva Caves by boat, the Macocha Abyss and the Austerlitz battlefield.
This tour takes pupils to the heart of Moravia, with an overnight stopover in Germany on the way out and back. In Brno, they discover the Mendel Museum, housed in the abbey where Gregor Mendel carried out his pea experiments and laid the foundations of genetics, as well as Špilberk Fortress. In the Moravian Karst, the Punkva Caves are partly visited by boat on an underground river, before reaching the bottom of the Macocha Abyss. The Austerlitz battlefield, where Napoleon won his victory on 2 December 1805, is best understood from the Cairn of Peace (Mohyla míru). This trip suits secondary school biology, geography and history lessons.
