Four days in Middelkerke: promenade and comic statues, the Raversyde estate and its Atlantic Wall, a visit to Ostend and free time.

Middelkerke is a quiet family resort with a wide beach and a long, flat promenade, ideal for effortless walks. The promenade is enlivened by statues of Belgian comic-strip heroes that make young and old smile. Your group discovers the Raversyde estate, where the bunkers of the Atlantic Wall tell the story of both world wars, then neighbouring Ostend, ’queen of the beaches’. Every day keeps free time to enjoy the sea air, a terrace or a nap at the hotel. The Raversyde route includes sandy stretches and a few steps: it can be shortened.

Programme

Day 1: Arrival in Middelkerke

  • Departure in the morning from the pick-up point of your choice.
  • Coffee break on the way; our drivers drive for 3 hours at most, then take a 30-minute break.
  • Arrival in Middelkerke in the late morning.
  • Reserved lunch on the promenade (on request).
  • Stroll along the promenade to discover the statues of comic-strip characters.
  • Check-in at the hotel near the sea, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Raversyde estate

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Visit of the Raversyde estate: open-air Atlantic Wall museum and Prince Charles memorial (on request).
  • Free afternoon in Middelkerke: beach, terraces or casino.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3: Ostend

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Short coach ride to Ostend.
  • Guided tour of Ostend: promenade, Royal Galleries and Church of St Peter and St Paul (on request).
  • Fish lunch in Ostend (on request).
  • Free time on the seafront.
  • Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Return

  • Breakfast at the hotel.
  • Free morning on the Middelkerke promenade.
  • Reserved lunch in Middelkerke (on request).
  • Return journey in the afternoon, arriving back in your area in the evening.

  • A valid identity card is required; departure and return times are adapted to your pick-up point.
  • Walking level: easy (short walks, frequent breaks, coach close by).

  • The trip is possible all year round; the Raversyde estate is open mainly from April to mid-November (to be checked each year).

Cancellation and refund protection

Optional, to be taken when booking: you can cancel without giving a reason and get the base price of the trip back, provided your request reaches us at least 48 hours before departure for a day trip, 7 days before if admission tickets are included, 14 days before for a trip with overnight stays. Price: 7 % of the trip up to €1,000, 5 % from €1,001 to €2,500, 3.5 % above.
